From the 3rd to the 7th of june, some CIAN’s members went to Rooterdam to partipate at the DCLDE biannual Workshop that adresses different tasks such as detection, classification, localisation and density estimation. At this occasion, ongoing works of the different labs have been presented and these topics have been deeply discussed.

This workshop is a key event for bioacoustics and signal processing experts, allowing rich and fructuous exchanges between researchers from all around the world. The participants had the the opportunity to expose their last works and discuss their current challenges to collaborate on innovative projects. The talks went from advanced signal processing techniques to new approach of automated learning for acoustic data analysis.

Several sessions of conferences and poster presentations allowed the researchers to present their work in detail, opening the door for constructive debates and precious feedbacks from their colleagues. This kind of meeting is highly valuable to stimulate research and encourage knowledge diffusion in these specialised fields.

In short, the participation at the DCLDE workshop has been a rich experience for the CIAN’s researchers, allowing them to catch up with the state of the art and contribuate actively to the scientific talks
