M1 – internship, spring 2025
An enriching experience in a complex field. The supervision and atmosphere were excellent, with good communication
between colleagues in a scientific setting. I was able to develop my skills and acquire new ones, which will be invaluable in continuing my training and ultimately in my future career in research.

M1 SDM – IPA, internship, spring 2025
A great atmosphere from the start, with a warm and professional welcome. Quick integration thanks to open discussions with the team. A dynamic and motivating work environment, with well-paced days. Good communication within the group made it easier to understand the tasks. A rewarding two-month experience that allowed me to develop my skills and grow professionally, leaving me with a strong sense of accomplishment.

M1 – internship, spring 2025
This internship was a great opportunity to immerse myself in a professional scientific environment. I quickly adapted to the team’s workflow and took part in various tasks that deepened my understanding of the field. Throughout this experience, I gained autonomy and learned how to face practical challenges in real situations. The positive atmosphere and the guidance I received helped me grow both personally and professionally. This experience strengthened my motivation to continue in this career path.

M1 – internship, spring 2025
This first internship in a laboratory was an opportunity for me to develop both my coding skills and my scientific background. After a very warm and welcoming reception, I quickly integrated into the atmosphere of the LIS and its team, who created a climate of trust throughout the duration of our internship. Although I initially had limited affinity
for computer science and the Python language, my project — along with those of my peers — sparked a sense of curiosity in me, further motivating me to give my best. Mutual support was a key element during these two months, helping us overcome difficulties and explore various aspects of our respective topics. Thanks to all of this, I felt included from the very beginning, and I highly recommend this laboratory to other students interested in exploring bioacoustics.

M1 – internship, spring 2025
My first internship experience in bioacoustics proved to be very rewarding. I had the opportunity to study several parameters to gain an initial understanding of the diving behavior of Sperm whales, a sentinel species of biodiversity. This experience helped me strengthen my skills in Python programming and data processing. I’m grateful to have contributed to the study of Sperm whales in the Mediterranean Sea. I worked with an incredible team that fostered both knowledge-sharing and mutual support. This internship has reinforced my desire to continue studying cetaceans.
As a Physics and Chemistry undergraduate student from Toulon University (UTLN), I carried out this Personal Research Project (PPR) as part of my preparatory course at SeaTech. This two-years project aims to tackle a specific problem in regular collaboration, during the student’s free time, with a teacher-researcher from a UTLN research laboratory.
I carried out my PPR under the supervision of Pr. Hervé GLOTIN, a teacher-researcher at the Computer Science and Systems Laboratory (LIS) and the International Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Natural Acoustics (CIAN).
I would like to express my deep gratitude to my tutor, whose involvement, help and invaluable advice have been essential throughout this project. Thanks to him, I have been able to learn about scientific research and explore a fascinating field that was previously unknown to me. I had the opportunity to attend numerous conferences, seminars and workshops, and to spend time in the laboratory. I would also like to thank all the people I met during this project, who gave me a huge help in my research.
