Every year since 2019, the sea city (la cité de la mer), Cherbourg, organises the meetings. During one week these events gather students from 4. to 18yo. to talk and exchange with scientists about questions on the oceans. In 2023, the topic of this event was focused on sounds and named “20.000 sounds under the seas”. Our DYNI team was represented by Marion Poupard who participated at 2 panel discussions for high school students and general public. With other bioacousticians (from Sorbonne University, IFREMER, NAVALGroup…) several topics have been approached such as cetacean sound signal processing, cetacean localisation, and their behaviours studied by sound.
